Holo Dice — Privacy Policy

Last updated: June 15, 2026

Holo Dice is an augmented-reality dice-rolling app for iOS, built and maintained by an independent developer. This policy explains exactly what the app does and does not collect. In short: Holo Dice has no accounts, asks for no personal information, and uses your camera only to place dice on real surfaces.

Camera

Holo Dice uses your device camera to detect real-world surfaces (augmented reality) so that dice can be placed and thrown on them. The camera feed is processed live on your device by Apple's ARKit and is never recorded, stored, or transmitted off your device by the app. You can revoke camera access at any time in Settings ▸ Holo Dice ▸ Camera; the app needs it to function.

Analytics

Holo Dice uses Google Firebase Analytics to understand how the app is used so it can be improved. This collects anonymous, aggregated usage data — such as when a roll is started and how many dice were thrown — along with standard Firebase metrics like a random app-instance identifier, device model, operating-system version, approximate (country-level) region, and session activity.

This data is not used to identify you personally, is not linked to any account, and is not sold or shared for advertising. It is handled by Google as a data processor under their terms. For details, see Google's Privacy Policy and Firebase's privacy and data-handling documentation.

What Holo Dice does NOT collect

  • No account or login — the app never asks for your name, email, or any sign-in.
  • No precise location, contacts, photos, or microphone access.
  • No advertising and no third-party ad networks.
  • No in-app purchases.
  • No tracking of you across other apps or websites.
  • No sale of your data — ever.

Data retention

The app itself stores no personal data. Anonymous analytics data is retained by Google according to Firebase's default retention settings. Because no personally identifying information is collected, there is none to request or delete from the developer directly; analytics records are anonymous and aggregated.

Children's privacy

Holo Dice is not directed at children under 13 and does not knowingly collect personal information from children.

Your choices

You can limit analytics and tracking through your device's privacy settings in iOS, revoke camera permission in Settings ▸ Holo Dice, or uninstall the app at any time to stop all data collection.

Changes to this policy

If this policy changes, the updated version will be posted on this page with a new “Last updated” date.
