Dreadpick — Privacy Policy

Dreadpick is a horror choose-your-own-adventure card game for iOS, built and maintained by an independent developer. This policy explains exactly what the app does and does not collect. In short: Dreadpick has no accounts, asks for no personal information, and requests no device permissions at all.
Game progress stored on your device
Dreadpick keeps a small amount of progress locally on your device — how many stories you have survived, how many times you have fallen, and which companion you last chose. These counts are what unlock new companions over time. This information is stored only in the app's own storage on your device, is never transmitted anywhere, and is deleted when you delete the app.
Analytics
Dreadpick uses Google Firebase Analytics to understand how the game is played so it can be improved. The app sends three gameplay events: which companion was chosen at the start of a run, and which story was in play when a run ended in survival or in death. The values attached to those events are fictional game content — a companion's name and a story's internal identifier — and contain nothing about you.
Alongside those events, Firebase collects its standard anonymous metrics: a random app-instance identifier, device model, operating-system version, approximate (country-level) region derived from IP address, and session activity.
This data is not used to identify you personally, is not linked to any account, and is not sold or shared for advertising. It is handled by Google as a data processor under their terms. For details, see Google's Privacy Policy and Firebase's privacy and data-handling documentation.
What Dreadpick does NOT collect
- No account or login — the app never asks for your name, email, or any sign-in.
- No device permissions at all — no camera, microphone, location, contacts, or photos.
- No advertising identifier (IDFA) and no third-party ad networks.
- No tracking of you across other apps or websites.
- No in-app purchases.
- No user accounts, messaging, or user-generated content.
- No sale of your data — ever.
Data retention
The app itself stores no personal data. Your local progress stays on your device until you delete the app. Anonymous analytics data is retained by Google according to Firebase's default retention settings. Because no personally identifying information is collected, there is none to request or delete from the developer directly; analytics records are anonymous and aggregated.
Children's privacy
Dreadpick contains horror themes and is not directed at children under 13, and it does not knowingly collect personal information from children.
Your choices
You can limit analytics and tracking through your device's privacy settings in iOS, or uninstall the app at any time to stop all data collection and remove your local progress.
Changes to this policy
If this policy changes, the updated version will be posted on this page with a new “Last updated” date.
